Swindle Law Group, P.C.
An Update On Swindle Law Group’s COVID-19 Response
The coronavirus has forced people across Georgia, the country and the world to adapt to a new normal. At Swindle Law Group, we are adjusting and responding to COVID-19 and operating in this new environment. We recognize that while the virus may have shut down many parts of normal life here in Georgia, criminal law/DUI matters, bond hearings, and protecting clients are still ongoing and require attention.
SWINDLE LAW GROUP Continues To Operate
The courts are not currently shut down. Georgia’s chief justice declared a statewide judicial emergency on March 14, 2020. This order forced courts to “suspend all but essential court functions.” However, procedures continue to be modified and court dates continued to be scheduled.
We are engaged in the following practices to continue our operations while keeping our attorneys, staff and clients safe.
Consulting with clients one on one pursuant to the distance guidelines, or via videoconference, teleconference, and email.
Taking fee payments over the phone.
Social distancing in our workplaces.
The Georgia Court System
While the courts may have postponed or rescheduled hearings, other functions of the court system are able to proceed in new ways. Courts will also remain open to prioritize legal issues where the liberty or safety of an individual is concerned, including bond hearings, probation revocation hearings, and preliminary hearings.
Whether you are an existing client or considering your legal options during this time, we can advise on how your case may progress given the current climate.
